FUN FACTS!

Freemasonry is the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world!

You cannot join other recognized Masonic organizations unless you are a dues paying Master Mason in good standing with a Blue Lodge.

Each state has a "GRAND LODGE" which is that states highest authority, there is no "GRAND LODGE OF THE U.S.A." and no Grand Lodge of any other state can tell another what to do.

Kansas (unfortunately) is one of few state Craft Freemasonry jurisdictions in the United States that recognizes fully (and rightly), our Prince Hall Affiliation (PHA) Brothers since 1998!
Our slogan:
"2 JURISDICTIONS, 1 BROTHERHOOD, 0 RESTRICTIONS."

A.F. & A.M. stands for "Ancient Free & Accepted Masons." Another type you may see is F. & A.M. which stands for "Free & Accepted Masons."

Usually the Master of a Lodge will wear a hat, any hat just not a ball cap, (and no one else may wear a hat) this is a visual sign of authority and respect in a Lodge. While wearing a hat technically isn't a regulation in our By-laws, it is heavily suggested but most if not all Lodges do it.

The importance of the phrase "on the level" that Masons often use, is that all Masons regardless of backgrounds, years of service, or officer positions held, we all are equal and have an equal voice.
